Climate change is happening... NOW
Climate Change. Its Real. Its Serious. And it’s up to us to stop it.
Despite all the science and all the warnings, we have ZERO realistic options to erase all those billions of tonnes of CO2 humans have released. But what if there was an actual way to combat climate change? What if there was a low-tech, all-natural way to mop-up MASSIVE amounts of CO2 out of the atmosphere, and potentially HALT Climate change?
HOW MUCH CARBON DIOXIDE INCREASED SINCE 1750?
Carbon dioxide is the one of the most important greenhouse gas. Human activities, like fossil fuel use and deforestation, are a large source of carbon dioxide emissions. Since 1750, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased 30% from 280 parts per million (ppm) to 370 ppm in 2005. On May 23, 2016 , in the remote reaches of Antarctica, the South Pole Observatory carbon dioxide observing station passed 400 ppm, That’s the first time it’s passed that level in 4 million years (no, that’s not a typo). The choices we make today will affect the amount of greenhouse gases we put in the atmosphere in the near future and for years to come.
Humans are responsible for climate change
Over the past century, human activities have released large amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are primarily released into the atmosphere as a result of burning fossil fuels and act like a blanket around Earth, trapping energy in the atmosphere and causing it to warm. This phenomenon is called the greenhouse effect and is natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases can change Earth's climate and result in dangerous effects to human health and welfare and to ecosystems.
